Working on new gigs

Greetings All!
Our good friend, Rowan, from the SARocks Blog, visited the website recently, saw the new blog and added us as a link on her site ! Thank you! We'll be sure to return the favor!
Still working with our booking agent, Debbie Murphy from Spectrum, about some new gigs for September. We're always on the lookout for newclubs to play at, and she suggested Main Street over on Wetmore. Seems they're under new management, which is a good thing! We'll look into adding this place to our gig list. There's a LOT of competition out there for gigs, and some clubs, like Copper Dollar and Iguana Bay, have closed down, while others are deciding to cut ive music altogether. If you havbe an leads or ideas for places ALTER EGO could play, please drop me an e-mail at thebandalterego@hotmail.com!
Also, we've made contact with KISS Radio promotions about the possibility of ALTER EGO being added to a KISS event in the future. We've done a few gigs with K-ROCK so far, and it's a great way to get the name of the band out there!
Got anothe rband practice Sunday night, and looking to nail down a few more songs to start playing beginning Aug 5 at the ROXY! If you've never been to this great Northwest Side club across from Ingram Park Mall, you owe it to yourself to check it out! It's a great atmosphere, bar staff and especially the people! Definitely our favorite place to play.

First day jitters

Ok, now that I've created this thing, what do I fill it with??? First off, I want to send a big thanks to Rowan at SARocksBlog. She gave me the idea for this blog, as well as adding a Shoutbox to the band's webpage. I've always said I never met an idea I couldn't steal!

ALTER EGO has been around almost 4 years now (Holy Shit!) and with pretty much the same lineup. We did have musical drummers for a while until Tony Vasquez stepped up to the plate and hit it out of the park. He's definitely the best drummer I've ever played with in 30 years of playing. Paul Navarez (guitar) and Bruce Allen (lead vocals) ... well, what can I say about them ... other than "SHOW UP ON TIME, DAMMIT!!!"... just kidding, guys. I've never played with a finer group of musicians.

This past month, we took some much-needed time off. After 3-plus years of constant gigging, I felt we were getting a little burnt out, so July was time to sepend with the family, goof off, whatever. We got back together July 26 to start learning new songs and shake the reust offa bit. Rehearsal went well, as we picked up "Be Yourself" by Audioslave, "Shimmer" by Fuel, and worked on a couple of others, and discussed what we were gonna do next practice. We decide on "Blitzkrieg Bop" by the Ramones, "Aerials" by System of a Down, and "Blister in the Sun" by the Violent Femmes. Fairly bouncy numbers, we felt.

We'll all looking forward to playing out again and the first gig is The Roxy on Aug. 5. This is a favorite of ours, as we always seem to have a great show there. It's a fun place to play, the bar staff is great and the people are tremendous! Can't wait!!!!
